Haverstraw Council Withdraws From Controversial Legoland Project

HAVERSTRAW, N.Y. - Over a year after the proposal was first announced Haverstraw officials have announced that they won't be pursuing the Legoland Theme Park after negative reactions from the residents.

According to Lohud, Supervisor Howard Phillips didn't want to divide the community with the project, and said in his announcement Thursday that the town would continue to look for new projects to bring to the town.

The company looking to build the new Legoland said in a statement that they continue to believe that Haverstraw would be a great location for the park, Lohud reported.
